CERAMICS (1953-1961)

Ceramic sculptures made in UK, Holland and Israel during his time as manager of a London pottery and as founder and manager of the Ceramic Art Department at Harsa, Beersheva, Israel.
Azaz designed and made sculptural pottery artworks influenced by the contours, shapes and colours of the desert.
The individual artworks featured in exhibitions in UK and Israel and in museum collections in UK and Holland.
The pottery shown in this gallery is a small representation of Azaz’s portfolio, comprising personal hand-made works made in the early to mid-1950’s while Azaz was in Amsterdam and London, artworks created in Israel during 1956-61, and pottery designs created by Azaz for the Harsa Ceramic Art Department; these were then decorated by a team of artists under his direction and exported through Maskit.
